Visual arts market trends, exhibition opportunities, and gallery participation in NZ

I’m developing a business plan for a fine art photography venture (Rainbird Photography), and I’m looking for data that could help validate the market potential for visual art in Aotearoa. I’m specifically seeking: Sales trends and pricing benchmarks for fine art photography (and visual art more broadly) Data on gallery and exhibition opportunities for emerging artists/photographers Public participation or spending trends related to art galleries, exhibitions, or visual arts events Any existing reports or insights that explore the viability of visual art as an income stream I’ve reviewed some published cultural reports but would appreciate anything further that supports this line of research.

...creative entrepreneurs being unable to assess the demand and income potential of fine art photography due to limited access to sales and participation data.

...providing evidence that emerging visual artists can use to understand sales potential, audience behaviour, and opportunities for gallery or exhibition exposure.
